Finally, it’s Spooky Season!

It’s finally October! *insert sigh of relief*

Who else is partaking in the viewing and doing of spooky every day for 31 days? I love all things paranormal and its always great when there’s a perfect excuse to watch even more of it.

Well, truth be told, I watch a lot of it on the day to day. I may be obsessed, but now I can at least sometimes convince my husband to watch it with me for the sake of keeping the spooky season spirit alive.

Today I want to tell you about some of my all time favorite paranormal shows. Ones I actually watch year round because why not, am I right?

So here are my current top three shows to watch:

1 - The ‘Overnight’ Channel (YouTube)

Currently I spend a lot of time on YouTube. I never thought I’d actually see the day I’d say such a statement, but honestly YouTube has a plethora of awesome people who do awesome things that are genuinely entertaining to watch.

My most favorite one right now is called ‘Overnight’. It’s a subchannel created from the guys who do ‘TFIL’. They created the channel because their overnight paranormal videos were so popular that they decided to do it pretty much full time and release a video once a week. I mean basically it’s a group of 4 grown men with their 2 cameramen who go around to the most haunted locations in the USA, and soon around the world (screaming in excitement on the inside for Dracula’s Castle). They spend one night in the location and try to capture evidence that ghosts are real. Duh. What I love most about this group is that they are very real and authentic. They are quite often very goofy, and are always doing dumb things, but that just brings more realness to the situation. A few of them were not even believers before they started doing this full time, but I am quite certain they are now. Plus another reason I think their videos or so real, is that they don’t always capture crazy paranormal activity. And that is how it should be.

You have to imagine, groups of people are usually exploring these locations every night of the week. That means that the “ghosts” that are said to haunt the places, would need to expel energy 24/7. Do you like socializing and being on the go 24/7? Probably not. So do you think if you were a ghost who barely exists in the living realm, would be able to make noises and move objects 24/7? Again, probably not. Regardless, I think these guys capture some outstanding evidence. Maybe it’s weird to say, but when Corey is on the verge of crying because of something that just happened, I am too. I definitely relate to that feeling of something so unexplainable and creepy happening that your eyes tear up. That’s exactly what happens to me when I recall my own paranormal experiences.

2 - ‘MrBallen’ (YouTube)

It’s another YouTube channel by ‘MrBallen’. Many of you may have already heard of him. He is an ex Navy Seal and an incredible storyteller.  There aren’t too many paranormal videos, but he releases a few around Halloween each year that you can find. Otherwise, he mostly has true crime related videos. Which I am sure many of you also like (because true crime and paranormal are pretty much on the same level of strange, yeah?).

Anyway, he tells an amazing ghost story that is his own. It’s about this time he went to his friends cabin in the mountains and a bizarre entity haunted him. The video is called “What I saw in my room still haunts me” if you are interested. Regardless, I highly recommend his channel for the day to day as well.

3 - ‘Destination Fear’ (Travel Channel or Discovery+)

Moving on to actual TV shows… my current favorite TV show (but 3rd place because I watch it less than the other two) for the paranormal is ‘Destination Fear’. It’s a group of 4 friends that go on a road trip around the USA to stay a night in a haunted location. What’s so interesting about this show is that one of them chooses the next location and the others don’t know until maybe the night before, sometimes the day of. Another very fascinating part of the show is that they split up and each sleep alone for roughly 6 hours, each of them in a different haunted part of the location. Of course they are always bringing extra fun challenges and such, but the parts they are alone are quite often the best. I couldn’t imagine having to split up and be in an unknown place where you hear many things go bump in the night.

By far the best episode I have ever watched from them, and really all time for all things paranormal, was Season 2 Episode 9 – Randolph County Infirmary. I have watched this episode multiple times and each time I have tears and chills the whole episode. I don’t know how the things that happened could have happened, but if they were real, it was the most compelling video evidence in my opinion. If you have access to the Travel Channel or Discovery+, please go watch it now and tell me you feel the same way about it, because WOW.

There are so many fun shows you can watch for reality ghost hunting, and I am so happy there are. I really think it is up to each individual person whether they believe it or not.  Or maybe it doesn’t matter, because it’s so unknown that even if there isn’t any good evidence captured in the episode/video, the journey through it was worth the watch.

I’ll share more interesting paranormal finds later in the month, and also more about spooky movies I’m watching this Halloween month, so if you want more insight, then stay tuned!

Also, Let me know if you have a favorite show with some amazing paranormal finds, or even let me know of your own ghost hunting experience (and if I can join you sometime please?). I’m always looking for a bit of fear ;)

Until next time, stay strange.
